We normally receive up to 10% commission from our insurance broker – and we will give this to you as a discount when you register for our Owner Builder Course - guaranteed. We are the only training provider to offer this to Owner Builders in NSW.
Your Insurance Discount Code will be available on your Student Account after you have registered with us.
If you have not completed our Course, you will still be able to take out insurance with us, although you will not be entitled to receive the above discount.
FREE BUILDING CONTRACTS AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), where a contractor is engaged by an owner to do work over $1,000, the parties must sign a written contract that complies with the law.
All students will receive the following Home Building Contracts that have been legally drafted and designed to protect you as an Owner Builder:
- Minor Works Contract (valued at $79.00) – for building work that is less than $20,000
- Small Works Contract (valued at $59.00) – for building work that is $20,000 or more
Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), an Owner Builder has a legal obligation to manage safety risks in a systematic manner, as well as to have a written Site-Specific Management Plan in place when the total value of the work exceeds $250,000.
All students will receive a FREE 70-page Safety Management System valued at $699.00 that has been legally drafted, and designed to assist Owner Builders in complying with safety laws.
The above templates comply with the requirements of the law and can be used multiple times by you as an Owner Builder.
FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Most individuals pay and complete Owner Builder Courses without taking into account the legal assistance and guidance that they may need when they actually commence their Owner Builder Project. Such individuals later end up seeking professional advice and engaging expensive lawyers at $300+ per hour.
If you register for our Owner Builder Course, we will also be able to provide you with FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE by email and telephone, even after you have completed our Course, to help you through your Owner Builder project.
Our legal assistance and guidance is provided by our in-house solicitor, and can cover matters such as:
